You don't have to go to Amsterdam for old Dutch scenes. Canals, bridges and stepped gables, you'll find it all in Delfshaven.
If you crave history after seeing Rotterdam's modern skyline, you really don't need to go to Amsterdam. Canals, bridges and old stone houses, you will find it all in Delfshaven. This idyllic district survived both the bombing and subsequent urban renewal. The district once originated as part of Delft - hence the name - but was annexed by Rotterdam as early as 1886. Its rich history is reflected in its many attractions. You will find several galleries, a brewery, fine restaurants and quaint antique and curio shops.
