Marvel at the tall buildings and the impressive Ground Zero in the Financial District.
Financial District is the oldest and most developed part of New York. The district carries a lot of history with it; this is where the city got its name in 1644 and the New York of today was born. Walk through The Battery for views of the Hudson and take the free ferry to see the Statue of Liberty.
Pause for a moment at the 9/11 Memorial. Despite this violent history, the city has come out on top and created an impressive place of remembrance. Walk past the world-famous Stock Exchange and stand at the site of George Washington's first inauguration. Also be sure to take a look at the National Museum of Native American Art.
