This is your district if you want to experience the real Naples: art, culture, crowds, hospitality and lots of good food.
If you love architecture and history, then this is your district. San Lorenzo and Pendino form the historical heart of the city. The neighbourhoods are densely populated and located on archaeological sites. But they are also modern neighbourhoods; there are universities and students keep the streets alive. The main locations are the junction of Via San Gregorio Armeno (the 'nativity scene street') and Via dei Tribunali, where you can see the Complesso Monumentale San Lorenzo Maggiore. There are also important museums, churches of great historical value and typically Neapolitan historic pizzerias and cafés.
