Santo Spirito is my home and my favourite district. Here you are really in Florence. You eat, drink and stroll among Florentines.
A truly working-class district where you almost seem to step into another city is Santo Spirito. The district lies on the banks of the Arno river. This is the original part of the city and the centre of Florentine industry. You'll find plenty of artisans and antique shops, as well as one of the city's most important museums and the beautiful Giardino di Boboli. This is one of the few neighbourhoods still largely inhabited by Florentines. This is reflected in the selection of restaurants, which are mainly aimed at the Florentine public. That means authentic Italian food and drink.
