The district for when the kids are along: a playground on every street corner and plenty of terraces to have a good coffee.
Prenzlauer Berg is the ideal neighbourhood if you want to explore the city from a bustling (family) district and numerous parks. It was once a decaying working-class neighbourhood where nothing had been restored since the war. Today, the neighbourhood looks very different. Prenzlauer Berg is rich in playgrounds and parks, has many nice restaurants, coffee shops, (children's) shops and most of the city's farmers' markets. In addition, the Mauerpark is one of the big draws, especially on Sundays. Then it is bursting with street musicians and hosts Berlin's most famous flea market.
